Hi Chris,
Good video.
Do you have any drills you can share to help open the lower half before impact?
Thanks
Matt
As far as training tips and technique there is no one better than you buddy!
Hi Chris, keep up the tips, really helpful, I have a question that you may be able to with, it too is about chipping around the greens, however our course is becoming very wet, this time of year, and I find myself, while chipping, taking deep soggy divots, but not getting the energy into the ball, hence it just flops a few yards in front of me, embarrassed 😞 perhaps you could do a video on wet soggy lies?
Thanks
Martyn.
I needed this so much. Although I find that now in autumn and it being very wet my club digs into the ground almost like a bunker shot. Result is always awkward. Would using a 7–8 iron or hybrid be a choice in the wetter conditions? Thanks!
Does this help if your lie is sitting up as well? Sometimes I end up slicing underneath the ball and it goes no where. What do you do then?
Thank you Chris!!! I need this in my life…
BTW, can you do a video on downhill bunker lies with little green and lots of green to work with? I know it’s random, but playing funky lies like that is the story of my golf journey in this 1st season of playing…
Solomon Li you really want to create as much loft as possible on those kinds of shots. Take your highest lofted club, open the club face, have the shaft towards your belt buckle and stand with the slope rather than just straight upright. I know I’m not Chris but I hope I can help
Chris found that tip excellent however I seem to struggle when I have a bare lie and very little grass could you please help
Cheers
I always tell myself “Just get on the green” with these shots. Every time I try to get cute, I always get bit in the butt. JM2C
Great tip I could shave 5–6 shots off my round doing this
Thanks! I have been hoping you would cover this
Chris can you do some more shot shaping videos with various irons…short and long…
Chris… how about videos about being stuck behind tree or just at the edge. Another video on where you don’t have a stance to hit the ball .. I find myself stuck under the brush
Thats not that difficult of a shot cuz you have 15 yds of green to work with, the real difficulty comes when u are in the thick rough and you only hav maybe 3–5 ft of green to work with, then what do u do??????!!!!
Yes please. Chris…I love your videos and would love to hear your take on this question .
I really struggle with this one.
you basically need a flop shot of Phil Mickelsen level
Do you hinge your wrists at the downswing ?
Chris, I guess I missed this one from the past.…I work on my chipping a lot and really have been struggling with the shot out of a thick rough. My fault has been that my hands got ahead of the ball and the ball came off the face to the right (vs down the line). I went to a 60 degree wedge like you said and with the ball slightly back in my stance used my basic chip shot. Much simpler and gave me more confidence. thank you so much!
Eliminating the wrist lever is key in executing the proper chip shot
Any tips when the ball is sitting on top of the fluffy stuff around the green?
3.45, is the reason I’ve found myself here today, thanks I will try this
Easy and simple to understand with …super stuff.
Do you go with club with highest bounce also if not much between lifts like 60 and 54 degree I have?
I just came here for the hair.
