Either the equipment advances have gone over the top or the course is way too easy, or both. Tour players shouldn’t be routinely shooting 60’s and 59’s in tour tournaments. Please PGA and USGA, do something about this.
@nostalgia isn’t what it used to be The course got hit by a hurricane last year. I think when they were fixing it back up they made it easier. They lost a bunch of trees and there’s no rough to speak of. So these guys can bomb it anywhere off the tee, then hit into flat, receptive greens. That’s a recipe for very low scores.
dude there have only been eleven 59s in PGA Tour history. most recent guy to do it was Scheffler back in 2020 (that was when I started to follow him more closely)
@Alexander Jefferies this is best ball with Tour pros. I can shoot 59 with my 4 man scramble of schmucks. Two top 10 players in the world, and only one has to make birdie? EZ money with how talented today’s players are (and how easy TPC Louisiana is for these guys).
@JP I know. JT and his dad shot 57 at PNC so I’m well aware that with tour pros a best ball scenario is easy double digits under par, but I was meaning that this guy is implying tour players in regular non-team tournaments on the PGA tour shoot 59 or 60 week in week out which just isn’t the case.
